Cosbycote Avenue is an end of terrace Edwardian property located in Herne Hill. The property had been extended over the years and included a small rear infill extension.
The client wanted to create a kitchen with connection to a family room at the rear of the house. Any extension needed to have as minimal an impact on the rear garden as possible
A new wraparound extension, which required the demolition of the existing lean to extension, created a new family room. A floating corner with bifold doors at right angles allowed the internal space in the family room to open out onto the rear patio and garden.
The new extension is designed to contrast the existing London stock brick house, clad in white render and with a flat roof. A large roof light fills the side section of the extension drawing natural daylight into the kitchen within the existing property
