A single storey lower ground floor extension and refurbishment to a semi detached Victorian property in East Dulwich.
The property is in a conservation area and so it was critical the extension was sympathetic to the existing property. The extension was built to create a large ‘L’ shaped, modern kitchen diner. Four large sliding doors face onto the rear garden, with a window seat to the side, facing the sunken patio. Two large rooflights abut the existing building maximising the natural daylight into the back of the open plan space. A feature timber storage wall wraps around one side of the new kitchen/diner, extending into the living room at the front of the property.
The sedum roof creates an interesting view to the garden from the room to the rear of the ground floor, extending and creating another plane to the stepped garden.
